A Gift at Seven: Seeing Love Grow Through a Birthday
Yesterday, the 16th, was my twins’ birthday. In the blink of an eye, they are already seven years old. Time truly flies. It feels like just yesterday they were two little babies in their mother’s arms, being nursed and cared for. Today, they have grown into lively, energetic twins with their own thoughts—and they can even play the piano. As their mother, my heart is filled with joy and gratitude.
I often feel that the greatest blessing of a multi-child family is seeing siblings love and care for one another. Yesterday, I was busy preparing dinner, the cake, and the birthday celebration, and I hadn’t even had time to prepare gifts for the twins. To my surprise, our second daughter had already done so. She gave the twins something she treasures most. I was deeply moved. The “big sister” who usually argues with the twins seemed to have grown up overnight, showing genuine care and love for her younger siblings.
This also reminded me of the small gift I gave to our elders on the 14th. Though it was a simple gesture, it was a sincere expression of love and respect. I believe our Heavenly Father must also delight in such moments, for He desires to see His children love one another. As Scripture says, “And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds.”
I thank our Heavenly Father for teaching us the lesson of love. Because He loved us first, we, too, are learning to love one another.
