🎙️ Opening
Welcome to the Grace & Light Moms Podcast. Here, we learn how to find grace in the chaos, and how to rediscover light in the darkest corners. I’m a mom of five. In this podcast, I want to share the real journey — not the perfect, polished version, but the raw, honest one. The one with tears, with struggles, and with the quiet moments when God gently lifted me back up. Today’s episode is called “Small Step — Approach the Throne of Grace, Just One More Step.” Healing rarely begins with something big. It often starts with something so small, so quiet — just one step back toward God.

💙 My Story
I live in the U.K. with my husband and our five children. From the outside, our life might look lovely — a full house, a good husband, a safe home. But inside, I was exhausted… and quietly breaking. Two weeks ago, my husband and I had a painful fight. After that, we stopped talking. The silence between us was heavy — like a wall you can’t see through, like winter air that never warms. I was angry. I was bitter. And I felt deeply unseen. Every time I came near him, I felt my energy draining away — as if I was slowly disappearing.
Then one morning, my back gave out. I couldn’t stand up straight. But I still went to the kitchen, still made breakfast, still carried the weight of the day. When I looked up, he was sitting at his desk, immersed in his world — while mine was falling apart. And I thought, “God, is this really my life? How long do I have to keep going like this?” I cried quietly as I chopped vegetables, as I washed dishes, tears falling into the sink. I felt invisible, small, and unbearably alone. At that moment, I whispered to myself, “I don’t see hope anymore.”
🌿 Turning Point
But deep inside, there was a still, gentle whisper — a voice that wasn’t mine. It said, “Take one small step.” It wasn’t a loud revelation, not a dramatic breakthrough. Just a simple invitation. That night, I made a decision: “When the alarm rings tomorrow morning, I won’t roll back into bed. I’ll read my Bible for five minutes first.” Just five minutes. Even if I was tired. Even if I was still angry. Even if I was still healing. Because five minutes of turning toward God is still a step toward hope. And that one small step — that tiny shift of the heart — became my turning point.
🔥 The Heart Thermostat
I started calling it my “heart thermostat.” Because my goal was no longer to “get better fast.” It was simply to be a little warmer than yesterday. Even one degree matters. Five minutes earlier in prayer. One verse whispered through tears. One slow breath of grace. Each time I chose to rise again, to forgive a little, to pray a little, to trust a little — God was there. He was quietly healing me, patiently mending what I couldn’t fix. A small step of faith is where hope begins.
💌 A Gentle Reminder
Dear Friend, if you feel tired, unseen, or completely worn out — you are not alone. God sees you. He hasn’t forgotten you. He’s not waiting for you to be perfect before He comes near. He’s already here — right where you are, in the middle of your mess and your tears. You don’t have to fix everything today. You just need to take one small step — toward His grace, toward His arms that never close. The Bible says: “Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.” — Hebrews 4:16
🕊️ Closing
This week, give yourself permission to take just one small step. Read one verse. Whisper one prayer. Pause for one breath of peace. That’s enough. Grace doesn’t rush. It always begins right where we stop pretending to be perfect. Jesus loves you. And I love you too. Let’s take one small step — together — and shine again.ter. And I felt deeply unseen. Every time I came near him, I felt my energy draining away — as if I was slowly disappearing.
